Miajavon Coleman Named to MEAC Volleyball Preseason All-Conference Team
NORFOLK, Va. – Coppin State's Miajavon Coleman was named to the MEAC Volleyball Preseason All-Conference Team, it was announced by the league office on Friday afternoon.  The team was determined based on voting among the conference's 11 head coaches and sports information directors.

Volleyball Releases 2019 Season Schedule
BALTIMORE – Coming off its best year since 2014 with nearly its entire roster returning, including All-Conference performer Miajavon Coleman, the Coppin State volleyball schedule has been released for the 2019 season. The 30 match slate features nine home matches, including a non-conference tilt against Siena, four early-season tournaments and 15 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference matchups.

Volleyball Inks Trio of Newcomers for 2019 Season
BALTIMORE – Coppin State volleyball head coach Tim Walsh has announced that Paola Ten Caten (Tampa, Fla.), Salma Gonzalez (Isabela, Puerto Rico) and Ashley Roman (Isabela, Puerto Rico) have signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Eagles during the 2019 season.

BALTIMORE – The Coppin State University Athletic Department held its annual Eagles ESPY Awards on Monday night and Joseph Amoah of the track & field team and women's basketball's Brooke Fields were named the Department's Male and Female Athletes of the Year.

Lang Gets 1,000th Assist, Lady Eagles Come Up Just Shy Of Semifinal Berth
Washington D.C. – Coppin State came within a set of the Semifinals but were unable to hold off the experienced Wildcats in a disappointing 3-2 season-ending defeat. Coppin will look to build off of a campaign that saw many records broken, new stars emerge, and shed some light on an extremely bright future that Eagles fans should be excited for.

Eyes On The Prize, Coppin Looks To Keep Season Alive In MEAC Tournament
BALTIMORE, Md. – CSU volleyball will look the capture its first conference title in the 29-year history of the program as it enters the MEAC tournament this weekend. Its first test will be a Quarterfinals bout with the preseason MEAC favorite, Bethune-Cookman Wildcats, with first serve set for 8 p.m. Friday night. Coppin drew the MEAC North's #3 seed while Bethune-Cookman earned the South's #2 seed. The two teams met in Baltimore for a crossover clash in mid-October, with the Wildcats coming away with a 3-0 sweep.

Stennis Earns MEAC Volleyball All-Academic Honors
NORFOLK, Va. – Junior outside hitter Asia Stennis was named to the MEAC Volleyball All-Academic team as announced by the league office Wednesday afternoon. To receive this acknowledgement a student-athlete must obtain a 3.0 cumulative GPA and be at the college/university for a full academic year.

Fabulous Freshman! Coleman Wins Rookie Of The Year, Lang Makes All-Rookie Team
BALTIMORE, Md. – Coppin State outside hitter Miajavon Coleman became the first player in school history to win the MEAC Volleyball Rookie of the Year while also being named to the All-MEAC Second Team and All-Rookie Team. Brianna Lang also got some well-deserved recognition of her own, joining Coleman on the MEAC All-Rookie Team. The two stud freshmen are the first pair of teammates to earn All-MEAC honors since Cindy Okpegbue and Chelsee Sauni both made the All-MEAC First Team in 2015.

Eagles Flying High Into MEAC Tournament With Win Over Hornets
Dover, Del. – Coppin State volleyball clinched the #3 seed in next weekend's MEAC Tournament with a win over the Delaware State Hornets on Sunday afternoon. The Eagles came into the match in play for the #3 and #4 seed, but a UMES victory over Morgan State earlier in the day coupled with CSU's win over Delaware State catapulted the Eagles into the third spot. Coppin was projected to finish fourth in the MEAC North before the season began. Tim Walsh's club exceeded preseason expectations and saw its win total triple from 4 to 12 in 2018.

Eagles Stun Hawks in MEAC Battle of the Birds, 3-2
PRINCESS ANNE, Md. – Coppin stole a huge MEAC North showdown from Maryland Eastern Shore, capping off the victory with a dance-off against the UMES cheerleaders. CSU rose to above .500 in the conference and go into the regular season finale, winners of its past three contests.
