WAYNESBORO, Pa. – Logan Brown finished sixth overall and Aushia McLean was just behind in seventh place to lead the Coppin State bowling team to a third-place finish at the Mount St. Mary's Shootout Traditional Tournament on Sunday afternoon at Sunshine Lanes.

Bowling Takes Season Opening Match from #17 Delaware State in 1st Day of Mount St. Mary’s Shootout
WAYNESBORO, Pa. – Coppin State's bowling team opened the 2020-21 season with a 969-899 Baker match victory over 17th-ranked Delaware State on Saturday afternoon at Sunshine Lanes.  The Eagles finished the Baker Tournament of the Mount St. Mary's Shootout in third place behind the host Mountaineers (3-0) and the Hornets (1-2).

Bowling Signs Jalyne Myers for 2021-22 Season
BALTIMORE – Coppin State bowling head coach Shaunita Middleton announced that Jalyne Myers (New Braunfels, Texas/Canyon HS) has signed a National Letter of Intent to compete for the Eagles, starting in the 2021-22 season.  Myers is the first bowler to commit to CSU for next season.

Thirteen Athletic Programs; 68 Percent of Athletes Record 3.0 GPA’s During Fall 2020 Semester
BALTIMORE – Thirteen of Coppin State's athletic programs recorded at least a 3.0 team grade-point average in the Fall 2020 semester and 16 student-athletes recorded a 4.0 GPA during the term, it was announced by the Department of Athletics on Thursday afternoon. Overall, nearly 68 percent of Eagles athletes recorded at least a 3.0 grade-point average during the fall semester.

BALTIMORE – Coppin State freshman bowler Logan Brown rolled her first-ever 300 game on Sunday, November 22 at the Money Bags Scratch Open held at Crofton Bowling Center.

Coppin State Bowling Picked Eighth in MEAC Preseason Poll
NORFOLK, Va. – Coppin State's bowling team has been picked to finish eighth of 11 teams, it was announced in the MEAC Preseason Bowling Poll which was released on Thursday afternoon.  The predicted order of finish was voted on by the league's head coaches and sports information directors.

Coppin State Bowling to be Sponsored by Storm for 2020-21 Season
BALTIMORE – Coppin State University's bowling team will be sponsored by Storm for the 2020-21 season, it was announced on Thursday afternoon. During the 2019-20 season, over 30 programs across the Nation were sponsored by Storm, including five teams ranked in the Top Ten.

Bowling’s Jazzleen McRae Named to NTCA All-Academic Team
WHITEWATER, Wisc. – Coppin State's Jazzleen McRae was named to the National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) All-Academic Team, it was announced by the organization earlier today.  To be eligible for the award, the student-athlete must have at least a 3.40 GPA for the academic year.  This season, 380 honorees from 69 different schools received the honor.

Coppin Places 52 Student-Athletes on 2020 MEAC Commissioner’s All-Academic Team, Presented by GEICO
NORFOLK, Va. – Fifty-two Coppin State University student-athletes were named to the MEAC 2020 Commissioner's All-Academic Team, presented by GEICO, it was announced by the league office on Thursday morning.  The team honors student-athletes, with at least sophomore standing, who have recorded a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better.

Nia Turner Named Third Team All-MEAC
NORFOLK, Va. – For the second-straight season, Coppin State's Nia Turner has earned a spot on the MEAC All-Conference Bowling Team, it was announced by the league office on Friday afternoon.  Turner earned Third Team distinction this year after receiving Second Team accolades last season.
