Bowling’s Jazzleen McRae Named to NTCA All-Academic Team
WHITEWATER, Wisc. – Coppin State's Jazzleen McRae was named to the National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) All-Academic Team, it was announced by the organization earlier today.  To be eligible for the award, the student-athlete must have at least a 3.40 GPA for the academic year.  This season, 380 honorees from 69 different schools received the honor.

Coppin Places 52 Student-Athletes on 2020 MEAC Commissioner’s All-Academic Team, Presented by GEICO
NORFOLK, Va. – Fifty-two Coppin State University student-athletes were named to the MEAC 2020 Commissioner's All-Academic Team, presented by GEICO, it was announced by the league office on Thursday morning.  The team honors student-athletes, with at least sophomore standing, who have recorded a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better.

Nia Turner Named Third Team All-MEAC
NORFOLK, Va. – For the second-straight season, Coppin State's Nia Turner has earned a spot on the MEAC All-Conference Bowling Team, it was announced by the league office on Friday afternoon.  Turner earned Third Team distinction this year after receiving Second Team accolades last season.

President Burnim’s Statement on CSU Athletics Spring Season
BALTIMORE - As we continue to monitor the details regarding COVID-19, it has become clear that further steps must be taken in order to preserve the health and safety of our students, faculty, and staff, to the extent that we are able. To this end, and as of March 13, 2020, all Coppin State University Athletics competition and practices will be suspended for the remainder of the spring seasons. This decision is also in line with a recent decision soon to be announced by the Mideastern Athletic Conference.  The safety of our student-athletes must be prioritized, and it is a necessary decision as we face the harsh reality and threat that the COVID-19 pandemic poses.

Bowling Finishes 6th at TNBA HBCU Invitational in Final Test Before MEAC Tournament
ATLANTA, Ga. – Coppin State's bowling team finished sixth of 16 schools at the TNBA HBCU Invitational hosted by Jackson State University at Fun Time Bowl this weekend.

Castillo Finishes 4th Overall, Leads Bowling to 5th Place After Two Days at TNBA HBCU Invitational
ATLANTA, Ga. – After two days, Coppin State's bowling team sits in fifth place out of 16 teams at the TNBA – HBCU Invitational.  The Eagles went 4-6 over the first two days, totaling 4,314 in five Baker matches on Friday and 4,560 pins in five traditional matches on Saturday to average 177.5 pins per match.

Bowling Qualifies for First MEAC Tournament Since 2013-14 Season With 8th Place Finish at MEAC Meet #2
PENSACOLA, Fla. – Coppin State's bowling team has qualified for its first MEAC Tournament since the 2013-14 season as the Eagles picked up three victories at MEAC Meet #2 over the weekend at Cordova Lanes.  CSU finished eighth overall for the Tournament and now have a school-record 33 wins this season.

Bowling Finishes 11th at James Brown Invitational
TOWSON, Md. – Coppin State's bowling team finished 11th of 15 schools and had six bowlers average at least a 173.40 at the James Brown Invitational over the weekend at AMF Towson Lanes. The Eagles stood 12th in the team standings entering Sunday's bracket play but got victories over MEAC rivals Morgan State and Norfolk State to jump up a spot.

Raja Anderson Named MEAC Bowling Rookie of the Week for Second Time
NORFOLK, Va. – For the second time this season, Coppin State's Raja Anderson has been named the MEAC Bowling Rookie of the Week, it was announced by the league office on Tuesday morning. Anderson's two Rookie honors this season is tied for the most in the conference.

Bowling Takes Eighth at Bowl for the Kure which Includes Victory Over 24th-Ranked Wilmington
DOUGLASSVILLE, Pa. – After a two-and-a-half month layoff, Coppin State's bowling team returned to action and earned a victory over nationally-ranked Wilmington while finishing eighth at the Bowl for the Kure Tournament, hosted by Molloy College at Jay Lanes over the weekend.
