READING, Pa. – Coppin State's bowling team opened its 2019-20 season with a 14th place finish at the Bud Whitman Invitational hosted by Chestnut Hill at Berks Lanes on Saturday-Sunday.

Bowling Opens 2019-20 Season at Bud Whitman Invitational This Weekend
BALTIMORE – Coppin State University's bowling teams opens its 2019-20 season this weekend at the Bud Whitman Invitational, hosted by Chestnut Hill on October 12-13 at Berks lanes in Reading, Pa.  In the season-opening Tournament, the Eagles will play Baker matches on Saturday against Kutztown, Caldwell, Mount St. Mary's, Mt. Aloysius and LIU-Brooklyn.  The following day, CSU plays Traditional matches against Howard, Felician, Chestnut Hill, Duquesne and Adelphi.

Bowling Picked to Finish Ninth in MEAC Preseason Poll
NORFOLK, Va. – Coppin State's bowling team has been picked to finish ninth of 11 teams in the MEAC Preseason Poll, it was announced by the league office on Thursday afternoon.  The poll, as well as the Preseason All-Conference awards were voted on the by the conference's head coaches and sports information directors.

BALTIMORE – Coppin State bowling head coach Shaunita Middleton announced that Raja Anderson and Sydney Tyler have signed a National Letter of Intent to compete for the Eagles during the 2019-20 season.

BALTIMORE – The Coppin State University Athletic Department held its annual Eagles ESPY Awards on Monday night and Joseph Amoah of the track & field team and women's basketball's Brooke Fields were named the Department's Male and Female Athletes of the Year.

Bowler Nia Turner Named Second Team All-MEAC
NORFOLK, Va. – Coppin State's Nia Turner has been named to the MEAC Bowling All-Conference Second Team, it was announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon.  This is the first Eagles bowler to receive All-MEAC honors under fifth-year head coach Shaunita Middleton.

Bowling Finishes MEAC Meet #2 in Ninth Place
GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Coppin State bowling team completed its weekend at MEAC Meet #2 and finished in ninth of 11 teams with an average of 165.94.  In the two MEAC Meets, the Eagles rank ninth with a 164.55 average while going 7-12 in their head-to-head matches.

Bowling Upsets #22 Monmouth and #6 Maryland Eastern Shore in Opening Day of MEAC Meet #2
GREENSBORO, N.C. – Through the first day of MEAC Meet #2, the Coppin State bowling team sits in eighth of 11 teams in hopes of qualifying for the MEAC Tournament in March.  Matches are being played at AMF All-Star Lanes.

Bowling Finishes 12th of 15 Schools at James Brown Invitational
TOWSON, Md. – Coppin State's bowling team finished 12th of 15 school schools at the James Brown Invitational, hosted by Morgan State University at AMF Towson this past weekend. The Eagles bested Felician University, Virginia State and Bowie State in the Final Team standings.

Bowling Wraps Up Golden Bear Classic with 13th Place Finish
READING, Pa. – Coppin State's bowling team completed its weekend at the Golden Bear Classic hosted by Kutztown University on Sunday, finishing in 13th out of 16 teams at Berks Lanes.
