Women’s Basketball Assistant Coach Keyana Brown Selected for NCAA Basketball Coaches Academy
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Coppin State University assistant women's basketball coach Keyana Brown has been selected as one of 46 participants for the 2023 NCAA Basketball Coaches Academy scheduled for May 10-12 at the NCAA National Office in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Ba, Coleman Receive President’s Eagle Awards at CSU's Annual ESPY Awards
BALTIMORE – Track & Field's Amadou Ba and volleyball's Miajavon Coleman received the President's Eagle Awards as Coppin State University Athletic Department held its annual Eagles ESPY Awards on Wednesday night at James Weldon Johnson Auditorium.  Sam Sessoms from men's basketball and volleyball's Andrea Tsvetanova received CSU's Male and Female Athlete of the Year Awards, respectively.

Staples Scores 20 Points as Women’s Hoops Falls in MEAC Quarterfinals to NC Central
NORFOLK, Va. – Despite a game-high 20 points from Mossi Staples, Coppin State's women's basketball team's season came to an end with a 57-50 loss to North Carolina Central in the MEAC Quarterfinals on Saturday afternoon at Scope Arena. CSU finishes with an 8-22 mark.

Watkins, Staples Earn Second Team All-MEAC Women’s Basketball Honors
NORFOLK, Va. – Coppin State's Jewel Watkins and Mossi Staples were both named All-MEAC Women's Basketball Second Team, it was announced on Tuesday night at the BBT Awards Ceremony held at Attucks Theatre. Watkins was also placed on the All-Defensive Team.

Three Eagles Score Double Figures in the Battle of Baltimore
BALTIMORE, MD.- Despite outscoring Morgan in the first and fourth quarters, and three Eagles finishing in double figures, Coppin fell to Morgan on Thursday, March 2nd for a final score of 57-49. The Eagles conclude the season with an overall record of 8-12, as they hold the fifth seed in the MEAC for three-way tie at 5-9 in conference play.

Gardner Hits Game-Winning Layup in Closing Seconds at Delaware State
DOVER, Del. – Cortney Gardner stole a long inbounds pass and took it in for a breakaway layup with 1.8 seconds left, giving the Coppin State women's basketball team a 34-32 victory at Delaware State on Monday night at Memorial Hall.  The Eagles now stand at 8-20 overall and 5-8 in the MEAC while the Hornets fall to 6-18 with a 4-9 mark in league play.

Women’s Hoops Goes Cold in Second Half in Loss at Maryland Eastern Shore
PRINCESS ANNE, Md. – Coppin State's women's basketball team went cold from the field in the second half in a 65-52 loss at Maryland Eastern Shore on Wednesday night at Hytche Center.  The Eagles fall to 6-20 with a 3-8 mark in the MEAC while the Hawks move to 8-17 overall and 4-7 in league play.

Women's Hoops' Colleen Bucknor, Cortney Gardner Named CSC Academic All-District
NORFOLK, Va. – Coppin State women's basketball players Colleen Bucknor and Cortney Gardner have been named to the College Sports Communicators Women's Basketball Academic All-District Team, it was announced by the organization on Tuesday afternoon.  This is the first award that either have received an award from CSC, formerly known as CoSIDA, and both advance to the Academic All-America ballot with All-Americans announced in mid-March.

Upset Bid for Women’s Hoops Falls Short at MEAC-Leading Norfolk State
NORFOLK, Va. – After leading at the half, Coppin State's women's basketball team shot just 19.0% from the floor in the second half as the Eagles fell, 47-36 at Norfolk State on Monday night at Echols Hall.  The loss drops Coppin to 6-19 overall and 3-7 in the MEAC while the Spartans improve to 21-5 on the year and 9-2 in league play.
