Women’s Basketball Adds Five Newcomers for Upcoming Season
BALTIMORE – Coppin State women's basketball head coach Laura Harper moved quickly in turning over the Eagles roster as she added five new players for the upcoming season.  Among the newcomers are graduate transfers Nailah Delinois (Sunrise, Fla. / Saint Joseph's University) and Roni Richardson (Alabaster, Ala. / Auburn University Montgomery), junior college transfers Toni Blanford (Montclair, N.J. / Monroe College) and Rebecca Wilson (Mount Vernon, N.Y. / Independence CC) and early-signee Hope Evans (Bowie, Md. / Bishop McNamara HS).

Harper Finalizes Women’s Basketball Coaching Staff
BALTIMORE – Coppin State women's basketball head coach Laura Harper announced on Monday the hiring of Jermaine Woods, Anjalé Barrett, Breanna Gross and Jennifer George to the Eagles coaching staff. Woods will serve as associate head coach, Barrett and Gross as assistant coaches and George as the program's director of basketball operations.

Coppin Places 52 Student-Athletes on 2020 MEAC Commissioner’s All-Academic Team, Presented by GEICO
NORFOLK, Va. – Fifty-two Coppin State University student-athletes were named to the MEAC 2020 Commissioner's All-Academic Team, presented by GEICO, it was announced by the league office on Thursday morning.  The team honors student-athletes, with at least sophomore standing, who have recorded a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better.

President Burnim’s Statement on CSU Athletics Spring Season
BALTIMORE - As we continue to monitor the details regarding COVID-19, it has become clear that further steps must be taken in order to preserve the health and safety of our students, faculty, and staff, to the extent that we are able. To this end, and as of March 13, 2020, all Coppin State University Athletics competition and practices will be suspended for the remainder of the spring seasons. This decision is also in line with a recent decision soon to be announced by the Mideastern Athletic Conference.  The safety of our student-athletes must be prioritized, and it is a necessary decision as we face the harsh reality and threat that the COVID-19 pandemic poses.

Women’s Hoops Falls in MEAC Tournament to Maryland Eastern Shore, 62-50
NORFOLK, Va. – Jalynda Salley scored a team-high 17 points and Chance Graham notched a double-double as the season came to an end for the Coppin State women's basketball team in a 62-50 loss to Maryland Eastern Shore on Tuesday afternoon in the MEAC Tournament at Scope Arena.

Women’s Hoops Falls at Maryland Eastern Shore in Regular Season Finale
PRINCESS ANNE, Md. – Coppin State's women's basketball team dropped its regular season finale at MEAC rival Maryland Eastern Shore, 61-46 on Thursday night at Hytche Arena.  The Eagles enter next week's MEAC Tournament at 3-25 overall and 3-13 in the MEAC while the Hawks move to 8-21 on the year and 5-11 in league play.
