RALEIGH, N.C. – Coppin State's men's basketball team cut a large first half deficit to within ten, but the Eagles fell at North Carolina State, 94-72 on Tuesday night at Reynolds Coliseum.  With the loss, Coppin falls to 4-7 on the season while the Wolfpack improve to 8-2.

Sam Sessoms Named MEAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for Fourth-Straight Time
NORFOLK, Va. – For the fourth time in as many weeks, Coppin State's Sam Sessoms has been named the MEAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week.  Sessoms averaged 28.5 points, 5.5 assists and 3.0 rebounds while shooting 22-of-33 (66.7%) from the floor in a pair of games last week.

Watkins Fuels Second Half Surge with 35 Points; Women’s Hoops Falls in Overtime at William & Mary
WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Jewel Watkins scored a career-high 35 points to lead the Coppin State women's basketball to a huge second half comeback, but the Eagles fell in overtime at William & Mary, 84-81 on Sunday afternoon at Kaplan Arena.

Sam Sessoms Hits Game-Winner; Scores Season-High 35 Points in Men’s Hoops Win at Loyola Maryland
BALTIMORE – Sam Sessoms hit a stepback jumper with 1.5 seconds remaining to lift the Coppin State men's basketball team past Loyola University Maryland, 74-71 on Saturday night at Reitz Arena.  A senior from Philadelphia, Pa., Sessoms finished with 35 points on 15-of-22 shooting as the Eagles improve to 4-6 on the season.

Volleyball’s Finest Season Ends in Heartbreaker at Wake Forest in NIVC
WINSTON SALEM, N.C. – Coppin State's volleyball team's season came to an end with a 3-2 (25-23, 22-25, 22-25, 25-17, 21-19) loss in the first round of the National Invitational Volleyball Championship at Wake Forest on Friday night at Reynolds Gymnasium.  The Eagles finish their best season in program-history with a 23-11 record.

Baseball Announces 2023 Season Schedule: Program’s First as a Northeast Conference Member
BALTIMORE – Coming off a MEAC Championship and entering its first season as a member of the Northeast Conference, the Coppin State baseball program released its 2023 schedule on Monday afternoon. Highlighted on the docket are 21 home games and a three-game road trip at Oregon State.

Women’s Hoops Drops Low-Scoring Affair at Campbell
BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Colleen Bucknor led the Eagles with the ten points as Coppin State's women's basketball team shot just 29.6% from the floor in a 47-38 loss at Campbell on Thursday night at Gilbert Craig Gore Arena.  With the loss, the Eagles now stand at 2-6 overall while the Camels improve to 4-3.

Men’s Hoops Falls at Hot-Shooting UMBC
CATONSVILLE, Md. – Coppin State's men's basketball team got 22 points and seven assists from Sam Sessoms as well as a career-high 14 points from Christian Sutton in a 109-82 loss at UMBC on Wednesday night at Chesapeake Employers Insurance Arena. The Eagles now stand at 3-6 on the season while the Retrievers even their record at 4-4 overall.

NORFOLK, Va. – Coppin State's Colleen Bucknor was named the MEAC Women's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week, it was announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon.  This is the first time this season, and the second of her career, that Bucknor has received a MEAC weekly award.
