Softball’s Vanessa Carrizosa Named to CSC Academic All-District Team
GREENWOOD, Ind. - Coppin State's Vanessa Carrizosa has been named to the College Sports Communicators 2022-23 Academic All-District Team, it was announced by the organization on Tuesday afternoon.  This is the first time that Carrizosa has been recognized by the CSC, formerly known as CoSIDA.

Softball Falls in Decisive MEAC Championship Game After Defeating NC Central Earlier in Day
NORFOLK, Va. – Coppin State's softball team forced a decisive game with a 6-5 victory over NC Central in the first game of the MEAC Championship, but fell to Central, 6-2 on Saturday at NSU Softball Stadium.  Coppin's season, which featured a program-record eight-game conference win streak and first-ever trip to the MEAC Title Game, comes to a heartbreaking end at 16-28 overall.

Softball Advances to First-Ever MEAC Championship Game with 3-0 Win over #4 Howard
NORFOLK, Va. – Vanessa Carrizosa picked up her third complete game victory of the MEAC Tournament and Seryna Esparza hit a two-run home run to lift the Coppin State softball team to a 3-0 victory over Howard on Friday afternoon at NSU Softball Stadium.  The Eagles advance to their first-ever MEAC Championship Game where they will take on third-seeded North Carolina Central at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 13.

Softball Falls to #3 NC Central in MEAC Tournament
NORFOLK, Va. – Coppin State's softball team fell to #3 North Carolina Central University, 10-1 on Thursday night in the MEAC Tournament at NSU Softball Field.  CSU (14-27) will play the winner of Howard/Maryland Eastern Shore at 3 pm on Friday, May 12 for a chance to advance to Saturday's MEAC Championship Game.

Pair of Home Runs & Carrizosa’s Complete Game Lift Softball Past #1 Morgan State in MEAC Tourney
NORFOLK, Va. – Avianna Peterson hit a solo home run in the top of the seventh to lift the Coppin State softball team to a 2-1 victory over top-seeded Morgan State in the MEAC Tournament on Wednesday afternoon at NSU Softball Stadium. This is the first time since 2011, and just the second time ever that the Eagles (14-26) have won a pair of games in the MEAC Tournament.

Softball Swipes Eight Bases in Win Over Howard in MEAC Tournament Opener
NORFOLK, Va. – Coppin State's softball team won its opening game of the MEAC Tournament, 6-4 over Howard on Wednesday morning at NSU Softball Team.  It was the first time that the Eagles (13-26) won their first game at the MEAC Tournament.

TOWSON, Md. – Coppin State's softball team dropped its regular season finale at Towson, 6-0, on Friday afternoon at Tiger Softball Stadium.  The Eagles will enter next week's MEAC Tournament as the fifth seed with a 12-26 overall record.

Ba, Coleman Receive President’s Eagle Awards at CSU's Annual ESPY Awards
BALTIMORE – Track & Field's Amadou Ba and volleyball's Miajavon Coleman received the President's Eagle Awards as Coppin State University Athletic Department held its annual Eagles ESPY Awards on Wednesday night at James Weldon Johnson Auditorium.  Sam Sessoms from men's basketball and volleyball's Andrea Tsvetanova received CSU's Male and Female Athlete of the Year Awards, respectively.
