NORFOLK, Va. – Coppin State softball's Cayla Brown, Nia Bowe, Madison Didion, Megan Narvaez and Nicole Ullman were named to the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Preseason Softball All-Conference Team, as announced by the league office on Thursday afternoon.  In addition, the Lady Eagles were picked to finish fourth in the Northern Division in the voting by the conference's head coaches and sports information directors. Brown and Bowe were named to the Preseason All-MEAC 1st Team, while Didion, Narvaez and Ullman all received 2nd Team honors.

BALTIMORE – Coppin State University head softball coach Gino Olivieri announced Friday afternoon that Lily Carter (Seagrove, N.C.) and Lynn Porter (Charlotte, N.C.) have signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Eagles starting in the 2020 season.

Coppin State Athletics will introduce the women and men's basketball teams as well as the other varsity rosters to the campus community this Thursday from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at "Midnight Mayhem: CHAMPION Edition" in the PEC Arena. Doors will open at 6 p.m.

BALTIMORE, Md. – Coppin State head softball coach Gino Olivieri has announced that Sawyer Fried has been hired as the Eagles new assistant coach.  Fried is a native of Miami, Fla., and will assist in all areas of the softball program.

BALTIMORE, Md. – Coppin State's Cayla Brown was named to the All-HBCU Third Team, it was announced by an HBCU Softball website on Wednesday afternoon.

BALTIMORE, Md. – Coppin State head softball coach Gino Olivieri has announced that Jaylene Sierra of Jersey City, N.J., has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Eagles in the 2019 season.  Adding to an already large recruiting class, Sierra is the 11th incoming freshman to commit to CSU for next season.

ORMOND BEACH, Fla. – Coppin State's softball season came to a heartbreaking end as the Eagles fell to Hampton, 4-3, in a 13-inning affair in the MEAC Tournament on Thursday afternoon at Ormond Beach Sports Complex.  The Eagles end the year with a 14-26 record which is their most wins since 2013.

ORMOND BEACH, Fla. – Coppin State's softball team dropped its opening game of the MEAC Tournament, 4-1, at South Division Champion Bethune Cookman on Wednesday afternoon at the Ormond Beach Sports Complex.  The Eagles will take on the loser of the Hampton/Savannah State matchup on Thursday, May 10 at 12 pm in an elimination game.

NORFOLK, Va. – Coppin State's softball team placed four players on MEAC All-Conference Teams, it was announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon.  Outfielder Nia Bowe, shortstop Patricia Soria and designated player Cayla Brown were named to the Second Team while pitcher Madison Didion received Third Team recognition.  The four players receiving All-Conference recognition is the most in a season in school-history.
