Men’s Track & Field Announces Addition of Amadou Ba for Upcoming Season
BALTIMORE – Coppin State University head track & field coach Carl Hicks has announced the addition of Amadou Ba to the Eagles' track & field roster for the 2020-21 season.  Ba is the first new male athlete to officially commit to Coppin track & field for the upcoming season.

Coppin Places 52 Student-Athletes on 2020 MEAC Commissioner’s All-Academic Team, Presented by GEICO
NORFOLK, Va. – Fifty-two Coppin State University student-athletes were named to the MEAC 2020 Commissioner's All-Academic Team, presented by GEICO, it was announced by the league office on Thursday morning.  The team honors student-athletes, with at least sophomore standing, who have recorded a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better.

Joseph Amoah Honored as USTFCCCA All-American in 200m Dash
NEW ORLEANS, La. – Coppin State's Joseph Amoah was named a United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-American in the 200m dash, it was announced by the organization on Tuesday afternoon.

Fourteen Eagles Earn MEAC Men’s Outdoor Track All-Academic Team Honors
NORFOLK, Va. – Coppin State University's men's track & field program placed 14 individuals on the Academic All-MEAC Team, it was announced by the league office on Wednesday afternoon. To be eligible, the student-athlete must be at least a sophomore and have recorded at least a 3.0 grade point average for the 2019-20 academic year.

Spring Senior Spotlights with Track & Field’s Aaron Lewis
The 2019 MEAC Champion in the 60m hurdles, Aaron Lewis has been a standout for the Eagles the last four seasons.  A native of Scarborough, Trinidad & Tobago, Lewis owns the Coppin State school-record in both the 60m hurdles (7.78) and 110m hurdles (13.64) and was a 2018 Honorable Mention All-America selection in the 110m hurdles after also winning the ECAC/IC4A Championship.  Lewis took the silver at the MEAC Championships in the hurdles three other times before winning the event as a senior.

President Burnim’s Statement on CSU Athletics Spring Season
BALTIMORE - As we continue to monitor the details regarding COVID-19, it has become clear that further steps must be taken in order to preserve the health and safety of our students, faculty, and staff, to the extent that we are able. To this end, and as of March 13, 2020, all Coppin State University Athletics competition and practices will be suspended for the remainder of the spring seasons. This decision is also in line with a recent decision soon to be announced by the Mideastern Athletic Conference.  The safety of our student-athletes must be prioritized, and it is a necessary decision as we face the harsh reality and threat that the COVID-19 pandemic poses.

Joseph Amoah & Aaron Lewis Win Events at MEAC Indoor Championships; Men’s Track Finishes 5th Overall
LANDOVER, Md. – Joseph Amoah won the 200m dash and Aaron Lewis won the 60m hurdles to lead the Coppin State men's track & field team to a fifth-place finish at the 2020 MEAC Indoor Championships this weekend at the Prince George's Sports & Learning Complex.

LEXINGTON, Va. – Coppin State's Joseph Amoah won the 60m dash at the VMI Indoor Classic in 6.78 to lead the Eagles men's track & field team this weekend in the team's final tuneup before the MEAC Championships.

Men’s 4x400m Relay Victorious at Albany Winter Classic
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – Coppin State's men's 4x400m relay of Abayie Opuni, Joseph Amoah, Malik John and Randy Serville closed out the night with a narrow victory at the Albany Winter Classic on Friday night at Ocean Breeze Sports Complex.
