NORFOLK, Va. – Coppin State's athletic department was honored for its academic success during the MEAC's All-Sports Awards Dinner, hosted at the Disney Contemporary Resort and Convention Center last week, in partnership with Disney on the Yard, held in conjunction with the conference's annual spring meetings.

Ba, Coleman Receive President’s Eagle Awards at CSU's Annual ESPY Awards
BALTIMORE – Track & Field's Amadou Ba and volleyball's Miajavon Coleman received the President's Eagle Awards as Coppin State University Athletic Department held its annual Eagles ESPY Awards on Wednesday night at James Weldon Johnson Auditorium.  Sam Sessoms from men's basketball and volleyball's Andrea Tsvetanova received CSU's Male and Female Athlete of the Year Awards, respectively.

Larry Stewart Named Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Coppin State
BALTIMORE – Coppin State University today named Larry Stewart ('06) as the new Head Men's Basketball Coach. Stewart returns to his alma mater after spending 14 years as an assistant coach at three of the other Historically Black Colleges and Universities in Maryland. Stewart served as an assistant at Bowie State for six seasons (2009-15) with the last three as associate head coach, Morgan State (2015-19, 2022-23) and Maryland Eastern Shore (2019-21) with one season as associate head coach.

Sam Sessoms Named BOXTOROW First Team All-American
BALTIMORE – Coppin State's Sam Sessoms was named a First Team BOXTOROW All-American, it was announced by the organization on Thursday morning.  This is the third-straight season that the Eagles have had at least one player selected to the BOXTOROW All-America Team.

Coppin State Announces Leadership Change for Men’s Basketball
BALTIMORE - Coppin State Head Men's Basketball Coach Juan Dixon will not return for the 2023-2024 season. Coppin Athletics Director Derek Carter today announced that Dixon is relieved of his duties, effective immediately.

Men’s Hoops’ Sam Sessoms Selected to Play in HBCU All-Star Game During Final Four Weekend
ATLANTA, Ga. – Coppin State's Sam Sessoms has been selected to play in the HBCU All-Star Game on April 2, 2023 at Texas Southern University's H&PE Arena during Final Four Weekend, it was announced on Monday morning. The second-ever HBCU All-Star Game will air live on the CBS Television Network and be available to stream on Paramount+.

Sessoms, Tarke Earn MEAC Men’s Basketball All-Conference Accolades
NORFOLK, Va. – Coppin State's Sam Sessoms and Nendah Tarke earned All-MEAC Men's Basketball Team honors, it was announced by the league office at the BBT Awards Ceremony on Tuesday night at Attucks Theatre.  Sessoms received First Team accolades while Tarke was named to the Second Team and All-Defensive Team.

Milestone Nights for Sessoms, Tarke as Men’s Hoops Closes Regular Season with Win at Morgan State
BALTIMORE – It was a historic milestone night for Sam Sessoms and Nendah Tarke as the Coppin State men's basketball team closed the regular season with an impressive 77-65 victory at Morgan State on Thursday night at Hill Field House. Winning three of their last four games, the Eagles enter the MEAC Tournament as the sixth seed with a 9-22 overall record while going 4-10 in league play.
