Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Donates Nearly 400 Toys to Local Charity in First-Ever “Toy Drive Challenge” Ahead of Cricket Celebration Bowl
NORFOLK, Va. – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference's (MEAC) first-ever "Toy Drive Challenge," in partnership with Toys for Tots, has officially concluded. Beginning in early November and running through the first week of December, MEAC member institutions set up drop sites on campus and at athletic events for children's toy donations ahead of the holidays.

BALTIMORE – The arena floor at Coppin State University's Physical Education Complex (PEC) was officially named after former men's basketball coach Ron 'Fang' Mitchell in a special ceremony as part of 'Fang Day' on Saturday afternoon.

Coppin State to Name PEC Arena Floor in Honor of Former MBB Coach Ron ‘Fang’ Mitchell
BALTIMORE – Coppin State University has announced that it will name the arena floor at Physical Education Complex Arena after former men's basketball coach Ron 'Fang' Mitchell as part of 'Fang Day' on Saturday, October 16. A special ceremony to honor the legendary Eagles coach will start at 1 pm in PEC Arena, followed by an on-campus outdoor celebration which will feature music, food trucks and other entertainment.

Athletic Communications Receives Phil Langan Graduate Internship Grant from CoSIDA
GREENWOOD, Ind. – Coppin State's Office of Athletic Communications, led by Steven Kramer, received one of two Phil Langan Graduate Internship grants from the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) for the 2021-22 academic year, it was announced by the organization late last week.  CoSIDA announced Coppin State's grant along with other scholarship and grant recipients throughout the country.

Amoah, Gonzalez Receive President’s Eagle Awards as Athletics Holds Annual Awards Ceremony
BALTIMORE – The Coppin State University Department of Athletics held its annual Eagle Awards virtually on Monday afternoon, and Joseph Amoah of the track & field team and volleyball's Salma Gonzalez earned the Department's Presidential Eagle Awards.  Additionally, Anthony Tarke of the men's basketball team and Ashley Roman of the volleyball team received the University's Athletes of the Year awards.

25 Student-Athletes Inducted into Coppin State’s Chapter of Chi Alpha Sigma
BALTIMORE – The Coppin State University Department of Athletics formally inducted 25 student-athletes on Tuesday morning into the University's Eta Chapter of Chi Alpha Sigma, the National Collegiate Athlete Honor Society.

Thirteen Athletic Programs; 68 Percent of Athletes Record 3.0 GPA’s During Fall 2020 Semester
BALTIMORE – Thirteen of Coppin State's athletic programs recorded at least a 3.0 team grade-point average in the Fall 2020 semester and 16 student-athletes recorded a 4.0 GPA during the term, it was announced by the Department of Athletics on Thursday afternoon. Overall, nearly 68 percent of Eagles athletes recorded at least a 3.0 grade-point average during the fall semester.
