Thirteen Athletic Programs; 68 Percent of Athletes Record 3.0 GPA’s During Fall 2020 Semester
BALTIMORE – Thirteen of Coppin State's athletic programs recorded at least a 3.0 team grade-point average in the Fall 2020 semester and 16 student-athletes recorded a 4.0 GPA during the term, it was announced by the Department of Athletics on Thursday afternoon. Overall, nearly 68 percent of Eagles athletes recorded at least a 3.0 grade-point average during the fall semester.

Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Named Recipient of John Lewis HBCU Grant
BALTIMORE – Coppin State University's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, led by SAAC President Jazzleen McRae, as well as advisor and head bowling coach Shaunita Middleton, has been selected as a recipient of the 2020 John Lewis HBCU Grant.

MEAC, Coppin State Announce Suspension of 2020 Fall Sports
NORFOLK, Va. – The Council of Presidents and Chancellors of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) announces that the league will suspend all sports competition, championship and non-championship segments, for the 2020 fall season, as a result of the continuing COVID-19 pandemic.  A decision is yet to be made on whether fall sports schedules will be moved to the 2021 spring semester.

Coppin Places 52 Student-Athletes on 2020 MEAC Commissioner’s All-Academic Team, Presented by GEICO
NORFOLK, Va. – Fifty-two Coppin State University student-athletes were named to the MEAC 2020 Commissioner's All-Academic Team, presented by GEICO, it was announced by the league office on Thursday morning.  The team honors student-athletes, with at least sophomore standing, who have recorded a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better.

Coppin State Online Record Books Updated Through 2019-20 Season
BALTIMORE – Record books for Coppin State volleyball, men's & women's basketball, baseball and indoor track & field have been updated and published online.  Additionally, a new record book for the softball program has been created as is now online as well.  Record books for the bowling and tennis programs are currently being created.

President Burnim’s Statement on CSU Athletics Spring Season
BALTIMORE - As we continue to monitor the details regarding COVID-19, it has become clear that further steps must be taken in order to preserve the health and safety of our students, faculty, and staff, to the extent that we are able. To this end, and as of March 13, 2020, all Coppin State University Athletics competition and practices will be suspended for the remainder of the spring seasons. This decision is also in line with a recent decision soon to be announced by the Mideastern Athletic Conference.  The safety of our student-athletes must be prioritized, and it is a necessary decision as we face the harsh reality and threat that the COVID-19 pandemic poses.

Sixty Five Percent of Coppin State Student-Athletes Record At Least 3.0 GPA in Fall 2019
BALTIMORE – Eighty-nine of 137 (65.0%) Coppin State University student-athletes recorded at least a 3.0 grade-point-average during the Fall 2019 semester and 13 Eagles recorded a 4.0 grade-point-average it was announced by the CSU Athletic Department on Friday.
