Baseball Receives Fifth-Straight ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award
GREENSBORO, N.C. – For the fifth-straight season, Coppin State's baseball team has been named a recipient of the American baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Team Academic Excellence Award, it was announced by the organization last week. To be eligible for the award, teams must have at least a 3.0 cumulative grade point average during the 2021-22 academic year.

Baseball Joins Northeast Conference as Associate Member
BALTIMORE – Coppin State's baseball team will be joining the Northeast Conference (NEC) as an associate member beginning with the 2023 season, it was announced today by the league office.

Former Baseball Standout Marcos Castillo Named to USPBL All-Star Team
UTICA, Mich. – Former Coppin State outfielder Marcos Castillo has been named to the United Shore Professional Baseball League (USPBL) All-Star Team, it was announced by the league office on Wednesday afternoon. Castillo was drafted to play for Team Drue in the All-Star Game which will be played on Saturday, July 9, thirty minutes after the conclusion of the Home Run Derby which starts at 5:30 pm.

Baseball’s Marcos Castillo Signs Professional Contract with USPBL’s Birmingham Bloomfield Beavers
UTICA, Mich. – Marcos Castillo, who helped Coppin State's baseball team to a 2022 MEAC Championship and first-ever NCAA Regional appearance, has signed a professional contract with the Birmingham Bloomfield Beavers of the United Shore Professional Baseball League. The USPBL is a four-team independent league which was founded in 2016 and all games are played at Jimmy John's Field in Utica.

BALTIMORE – Following its finest season in program history where Coppin State posted a school-record 24 wins, won its first MEAC Championship since 1995 and advanced to its first-ever NCAA Regional, 12 players have been assigned to clubs up across the Nation to play summer ball for various league.  Below is a look at where the Eagles will spend their summer.

Jordan Hamberg Receives All-America Accolades from NCBWA
DALLAS, Texas – Coppin State's Jordan Hamberg keeps on adding to his hardware collection as it was announced on Wednesday afternoon that he received Third Team All-America honors from the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.  Hamberg is the first Eagles player to earn All-America accolades, receiving the honor as a utility player.

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Coppin State's Jordan Hamberg has been named to the American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings East All-Region Second Team, it was announced by the organization on Wednesday morning.  Hamberg is the first Eagles player to receive ABCA All-Region honors, earning the award at designated hitter.

Nicolas, Hankins Go Deep as Baseball’s Rally Falls Just Short in NCAA Regional
GREENVILLE, N.C. – Brian Nicolas and Josh Hankins launched home runs, but Coppin State's ninth-inning rally fell just short as the Eagles fell to Coastal Carolina, 10-8, on Saturday afternoon in the NCAA Regional at Clark-LeClair Stadium. Coppin's historic season, highlighted by its first-ever trip to Regionals, ends with a school-record 24-30 mark.

Baseball Drops NCAA Regional Opener at #8 East Carolina
GREENVILLE, N.C. – Coppin State's baseball team was defeated by 8th-ranked East Carolina, 17-1, on Friday afternoon at sold-out Clark-LeClair Stadium in the opening game of the Greenville Regional at the NCAA Tournament.  The Eagles will take on either Coastal Carolina or Virginia in an elimination game on Saturday, June 4 at 1 pm.

Jordan Hamberg Named a Finalist for John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Award
LUBBOCK, Texas – Coppin State's Jordan Hamberg has been named one of five finalists for the John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Year Award, it was announced by the College Baseball Foundation on Tuesday afternoon. Hamberg is joined by Georgia State's Cameron Jones, Devin Ortiz of Virginia, Murray State's Jacob Pennington and Paul Skenes of Air Force.
