SPECIAL TOPICS: SOCIAL WORK LICENSURE PREP

This course is designed to prepare students to take the ASWB bachelors level licensure exam. A thorough overview of the test content will be provided as well as an analysis of test taking strategies and tips useful for success on the exam. This class will also include a review of sample questions and small group exercises designed to help students apply theories and concepts they've learned over the course of the BSW program to exam vignettes that are based on realistic practice dilemmas. Topics that will cover include but are not limited to:
Exam Taking Strategies
Social Work Assessment & Treatment Planning
An Overview of Relevant DSM-V Diagnoses
Social Work Intervention Strategies
Human Growth, Behavior and Developmental Theories
Social Work Values and Ethics
Addiction, Domestic Violence and Family Dynamics
Child Welfare and Gerontology
Self Regulation and Relaxation Skills Necessary for Success
