Psychotherapy and Treatment of Mental and Emotional Disorders

This course is designed to survey the major concepts and practices in contemporary psychotherapeutic systems and highlight some of the ethical and professional issues concerning treatment of individuals with mental & emotional disorders. Various theories & techniques will be surveyed to assist students with developing their own personal style of counseling with a succinct overview of the key concepts of each theory and their implications for psychotherapeutic practice.
