Certified Nursing Assistant/Geriatric Nursing Assistant program
70 hours of lecture, 40 hours of clinical practice; one term.
This course prepares the student to develop skills to work at a Certified Nursing Assistant/Geriatric Nursing Assistant in a health care setting. While engaging in class and clinical experiences, the student gains knowledge and completes clinical practice in the Simulation Center (SimCenter) and applies the skills in either a hospital and/or extended-care facility. Students practice selected procedures on each other in the SimCenter. The Maryland Board of Nursing has approved this course as meeting requirements to become a Certified Nursing Assistant.
