The Dynamics of Police Community Relationships

This course examines the origins and development of community policing, definitions and key elements of community policing, management and organization of community policing, impediments to community policing, problem-solving, policing, poverty, drug abuse, violence and other social issues, police–minority relationships, police, youth, the elderly and other “special populations”, community policing in relation to crime control, compstat, other policing strategies, terrorism and contemporary issues.
