Nursing Informatics

This course is designed to provide nursing students with knowledge in the use and management of health and nursing information technologies and clinical information systems in nursing practice. Course content will provide students with the knowledge to understand the use health and nursing technologies to assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care, to promote effective communication between the client and the interdisciplinary health care team and to assist in the nursing decision making process. Selected competencies in information technology and computer literacy are developed. Pre requisite NURS 323
