A study of both classic and modern literature designed for children from per-school through the elementary grades, concentrating on its history as a literary genre, the critical approaches required to analyze and evaluate it, and techniques for presenting it in the classroom. Spring semesters. Satisfies English GER option only for ECED, ELED, PSYC, and SPED majors. Prerequisite: (ENGL 101 or 103) AND (ENGL 102 or 104) AND ( 1 of WLIT 203, 204, 205, 206)
