This course is an introduction to the theory and practice of managing innovation and technology in competitive business situations. It examines the strategic and managerial issues related to the adoption and implementation of emerging technologies and the process of innovation. Product, process, and information technologies will be covered through readings and class discussions. Emphasis will be placed in technology planning, development and acquisition, and managing technology-related business functions. Current trends in innovations and technology management are also explored. The course will provide and opportunity to build essential skills that are needed by managers to succeed in an organizations. Throughout the course, critical analysis of the subject and its application to real-world issues will be stressed
