This course is designed to enable the elementary school teacher candidate to acquire knowledge and skills to assist the teaching of the language arts through a study of principles involving content selection, instructional techniques, and theories basic to effective classroom instruction. Research implications and the interrelatedness of the language arts are emphasized. A 30-hour practicum experience is required. Prerequisite: PRAXIS I & ELED 301
