Practice in writing effectively about literature. Students are expected to acquire a critical vocabulary and a basic knowledge of contemporary critical approaches and to demonstrate their mastery of skills associated with explication and analysis by writing a series of critical essays on various literary works. Spring semesters. Prerequisite: (ENGL 101 or 103) AND (ENGL 102 or 104)
